Cercle Indicateurs
The Cercle Indicateurs is a platform for the development and application of sustainability indicators for cantons and cities under the direction of the Federal Office for Spatial Development.
The set comprises around 30 indicators from the fields of economy, society and the environment.The indicators enable the assessment of the current status and the temporal change of sustainable development as well as comparisons with other Swiss cities.
32 cities and 19 cantons participated in the survey in 2021. The 2021 survey is the ninth survey for the cantons (2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021) and the fifth survey for cities (2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021).
The data for 2021 as well as those of the previous surveys will be published on the interactive database Stat@las of the Federal Statistical Office. The values of the city of Zurich are also presented on this website.The next full survey of the Cercle Indicateur will take place for the cities in 2025.
