From 28 September to 5 October 2019, the "Zurich meets Seoul" festival took place in Seoul. With over 3000 participants at around 30 events, an economic, scientific and cultural dialogue between the two metropolises was initiated. With its website and social media, the festival also reached over 8 million people. The Korean media dedicated several articles to the various events.

With "Zurich meets Seoul", the two city governments reaffirm the declaration of intent signed in October 2018 to promote exchange in the areas of e-government, science, culture and tourism. For the first time, a Zurich business delegation led by Carmen Walker Späh, President of the Government and Director of Economic Affairs, and organised by Switzerland Global Enterprise, also travelled to Seoul. It met with numerous local companies such as SK-Telekom, Hyundai and Samsung Electronics and made valuable business contacts.
