Together with the cities of Oslo, Prague, Brno, Lyon, Terrassa, Lille, Brussels, Vienna and Turin, the City of Zurich participated in the project "Spatial Dynamics and Strategic Planning in Metropolitan Areas" SPIMA. This emerged from the Eurocities working group "Metropolitan Areas" and was dedicated to the question of how spatial planning works at the level of metropolitan areas. Among other things, the cooperation between the higher-level corporations, the core city and the surrounding cities and regions was examined.
