Since 2013, the frequencies of foot traffic have been recorded automatically. There are currently 18 counting devices in operation. The frequencies of foot traffic are recorded by the counting devices by means of passive infrared radiation. The data collected in this way form an important quantitative basis for assessing the development of foot traffic in urban areas. The data of the counting devices are made available on the Internet via the OpenData portal .
