The Office for Diversity, Integration and Antiracism organizes and coordinates a variety of courses and events in cooperation with other institutions. The topics and information are of interest to anyone who is new to Zurich, but also to people who have been living here for some time.
Free Walk: New in Zurich Tour
An informative and entertaining tour with all you need to know plus insider information about Zurich. Get acquainted with Zurich's culture and life, learn what is important when living in Zurich. Meet and chat with other newcomers, learn about taxes, the political system, recycling, cultural specificities, services offered by the city of Zurich and try some basic words in Swiss German.

This event is free of charge. Free Walk Switzerland is a not-profit organization that is offering guided tours on a tip-basis. This tour is supported by the City of Zurich and therefore no tip is expected.

What can I do if I have little money? What is the KulturLegi? Where can I pay less when shopping? How can I find affordable leisure activities?
On our tours through the Zurich districts of Aussersihl and Oerlikon, you will learn more about the KulturLegi. You will visit a Caritas market and Caritas second-hand store. We will help you fill out the KulturLegi form. You will receive tips on discounts. So you can save money in your everyday life.
We provide information in German and offer translations into English, Spanish, Arabic and Farsi (other languages upon request).
This event is free of charge, including childcare, for people resident in the city of Zurich.

What are the requirements in the Swiss working environment? What are the possibilities and the ways to enter the job market? Where can I get support?
We will visit the career centre Stadt Zürich Laufbahnzentrum, where you will learn more about the Swiss education system and receive information about career entry and possible fields of work. Ask your individual questions regarding training and further education opportunities, search for employment as well as recognition of diplomas.

Would your child like to do sports or music? Would your child like to paint or do theatre? Do you need help finding a course for your child? How do you register your child for a course? What leisure activities are available for your child in Zurich?
