Learning German in lockdown
The city-subsidized German courses had to interrupt classroom instruction and switch to distance learning mode shortly after the start of the summer semester 2020 due to the lockdown. For two months, the sponsors continued the German courses on the basis of alternative learning activities (distance learning).
The IF took this situation as an opportunity to evaluate the summer semester 2020 in a targeted manner. The present study relates in particular to learning under these particular circumstances. It provides a classification of the effectiveness and practicability of distance learning offers in the language courses in the integration area. Possibilities of digital enrichment in the urban language promotion concept are also deliberately explored.
