Moving within Switzerland

If you change your place of residence within Switzerland, please deregister in person within 14 days. Please bring an ID and the confirmation of registration. You can also notify us of your move within Switzerland online.

Moving abroad

If you are moving abroad, please deregister in person. The deregistration can be initiated at the earliest 30 days before departure. It is not possible to register your departure abroad online. For Swiss nationals we require:

• Passport or identity card 
• Confirmation of registration («Schriftenempfangsschein»)
• CHF 20.- for the certificate of deregistration

For foreign nationals we require:

• Passport (for EU/EFTA nationals, identity card is sufficient)
• Residence permit (if available)
• Confirmation of registration / «Schriftenempfangsschein»
• CHF 20.- for the certificate of deregistration
