The Foreign Affairs Office implements the mayor's foreign policy strategy on a regional, a national and an international level.

It creates the basis for cooperation, forms cross-border alliances and promotes important exchanges of experiences between cities and positions Zürich as a sustainable, open and tolerant metropolis which takes its responsibilities towards Switzerland and the rest of the world very seriously.

To the outside world, this Office is a gateway; internally it coordinates all the various activities.
It fosters partnerships and cooperation and makes sure that business is done fairly.
