The mayor commissioned the Urban Development and Statistics offices of the City of Zurich to carry out the survey.
The City of Zurich wants to use the survey to get to know the needs, attitudes and level of satisfaction of the city’s population. The results will give the City Council and administration valuable indications for how to orient the further development of their services and activities. The findings will also help the City Council and city administration to produce measures that will lead to concrete improvements.
The first part of the survey covers questions relating to satisfaction with various institutions, offerings and services of the City of Zurich. These are followed by questions on housing, residents’ sense of security and digitisation. This year, the second part will focus on urban development and participation in urban projects. Finally, personal details are collected in order to group the results based on various characteristics such as age and gender.
The results will be used to produce graphs, tables and texts and then published in December 2025 at stadt-zuerich.ch/bevoelkerungsbefragung. The data will also be made available in the City of Zurich’s open data catalogue.
