The best way to start a new life in Zurich is to learn the language. It is not easy to find the right German course, we are happy to help you. In the German course database you will find all available German courses in Zurich, for beginners, intermediate or advanced learners. There are courses with childcare, intensive courses, evening courses or subsidized courses.

We can advise you about the offer at our Welcome Desk in the City Hall, it is free of charge and no appointment is required.

Are you and your family short of money?

With the KulturLegi card you will be reimbursed 100% of the cost of the German courses subsidized by the city once you have completed the course.

The course providers of the city-subsidized German courses will inform you about the conditions and the process for reimbursement.

You need recognized language certificates for immigration and citizenship proceedures. You must prove your language skills with recognized language certificates. These certificates are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and meet international quality standards.
