From November 4 to 8, 2022, the festival «Zürich meets Berlin» took place in Berlin as part of the Berlin Science Week. With over 1400 participants in about twenty events, a scientific, touristic, cultural and political dialogue between the two cities could be strengthened. With the festival «Zürich meets Berlin», the City and Canton of Zurich and Zurich Tourism, together with the local universities, set a strong signal for Zurich as an internationally attractive location for science, innovation and culture.

The Museum für Naturkunde hosted the «Berlin Science Week Campus» on November 4 and 5 – a highlight of the science week. The museum's entrance hall provided space for various exhibitions by Zurich's universities on current research topics. Important topics were also addressed at the political level and relations between Zurich and Berlin were deepened. Mayor Corine Mauch was able to continue the traditionally very good relations with Berlin in a first meeting with the Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey.

In mid-October, the City of Zurich took part in a meeting of «Procura+», the European city network on sustainable public procurement. Around 40 cities and organizations were represented at the exchange in Brussels. Sonja Gehrig, project manager for circular economy and sustainable procurement, Environmental and Health Protection Service Zurich, was there from the City of Zurich and presented Zurich's sustainable procurement initiatives and the textile calculator. The textile calculator is used to record supply chains, ecological and social criteria and calculates the greenhouse gas emissions saved in the procurement process of textiles. «Procura+» presents annual awards for outstanding sustainable or innovative procurement initiatives. The City of Zurich was the winner of the «Procurement Initiative of the Year 2019» for sustainable construction.
