On March 9, 2021, a digital exchange with members of the federal parliament from the Canton of Zurich took place under the auspices of the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich. In addition to a delegation from the Government Council, the City Councils of Zurich and Winterthur were also involved. The discussion, which was moderated by Dr. Silvia Steiner, President of the Cantonal Government, focused on the various amendments to the Covid 19 Act. The ongoing work at the federal and cantonal level on the topic of circular economy was also discussed. Furthermore, the two cities in particular raised their concerns regarding a planned amendment to the law at the federal level, which is intended to ensure the financing of assisted living through supplementary benefits.
For the City of Zurich, Mayor Corine Mauch and the two City Councilors Raphael Golta and Richard Wolff took part in the exchange. This year's meeting once again provided an opportunity for cross-party exchange between the three Zurich executives and the Zurich members of the federal parliament.
