This year, the event series «Zürich meets» will take place in Zurich due to the pandemic. Zurich's Office for Urban Development is supporting an art project of the Zürcher Theaterspektakel (August 13 to 30, 2020) - the festival is an integral part of the City of Zurich and a prime example of Zurich's attractiveness as a cultural hotspot.
William Forsythe's installation «City of Abstracts» has been selected. William Forsythe is one of the most important and innovative choreographers of contemporary dance. His works are known for having detached the practice of ballet from the classical repertoire and transformed it into a dynamic art form of the 21st century. Forsythe's interest in basic organizational principles has also led him to realize projects in the fields of installation, film and internet-based knowledge development.
